Question:
I sometimes see movies with tape on the mouth or bondage over the mouth and often first something is introduced in the mouth, usually certain garments 😉 But isn’t this a bit dangerous?
Answer:
Of course you need to be careful when you put something in someone’s mouth and of course you must keep an eye on the breath continually. And of course you’ll need to constantly stay closeby (you yourself or someone you trust with your life -literately-) in case something goes wrong. And of course you should always ensure that someone can warn you or have a “safeword” or stopsignal if you shut someone’s mouth. For example, a bell that can be dropped on the floor, a buzzer or clicker that one can use for this, or a lightswitch that can let someone blink a lamp (with loud music).
In short, always something to indicate that it should be stopped or acute extra attention is needed

The health risks of swallowing a stocking, a sock or panties will not be that big .. if you get it down, that is. And therein lies exactly the greatest danger. Swallowing clothing won’t happen easily, especially when a larger plug: it’s just too dry. With smaller and smoother objects like a buttplug or a ball perhaps it could be a bigger problem. Something is swallowed easier reflexively as it tends to sink into the throat (especially if you have someone on the back!). Then it’s a good idea to take things from the mouth and smaller items soshould better be avoided.
Not swallow but is the problem but chocking is the greatest danger.
The big risk is the risk of suffocation. Admittedly, the tape and certainly stuff in the mouth make it nicely difficult for someone to talk. But the other way around, you can no longer breathe in through the mouth. A cold, allergy, or if your nose is squeezed … that all will suddenly be an acute problem.
Further, things ending up at the back of the mouth are likely to give some people strong emetic reflexes. Normally the vomit will come out. But if the gag prevents this the vomit might easily end up in the upper airways with all the damage that entails.
The acidic vomit in the upper respiratory tract can also reflex stridor that is trying to protect the lungs. The result is that some people hardly can breathe in anymore, even if the plug is out again.
(And if we’re at it: with alcohol or dope on these kinds of things are not such a good idea because the vomiting reflex will be stronger and the muscles in the tongue and throat too weak.)
Then there is also the influence of gravity. Indeed, there is still one more point of attention: something in the mouth stimulates salivation. When hanging forward from a bondage one can drain this nicely outside (if the mouth is not taped airtight), but if you tilt someone’s head back or force someone on the back this saliva must go somewhere… this forces to swallow and we are therefore warning against objects in the mouth that are small, smooth or heavily enough.
One small addition still, it is quite often that ones own panties are used as gag. And if you’re “dating” one is not likely to wear the biggest or the most solid cotton briefs. And these panties aren’t also pulled ofreally politely. Frilly things do not always stand to be torn from the body … with loose wires as a result.
Slim side laces, loose threads and small edges or bows can indeed reach the throat and trigger the vomiting reaction if you do not roll your panties into a ball with the loose ends rolled inwards and the larger surfaces (such as the cross) are crammed in the mouth first… purely for safety reasons of course… 🙂
